Crucible Carbon Pty Ltd has been formed by The Crucible and Warnken ISE. The Crucible is a research and consulting organisation that links sustainability, business strategy, innovation and science, with a strong industry focus. Warnken ISE is an environmental business development consultancy, with a strong focus on the resource recovery sector.

Crucible Carbon brings together consulting, research, innovation and ventures in a unique offering that is unrivalled in Australia. Our corporate headquarters are in Sydney, and our research and development centre is in Newcastle (two hours north of Sydney).

The Directors of Crucible Carbon are:
	Dr Joe Herbertson AM, former head of BHP’s corporate research laboratories in Newcastle, Executive Director of The Natural Step in Australia, initiator of the Centre for Sustainable Resource Processing; Joe has established a strong track record in sustainability driven innovation and business development.
	Dr Les Strezov, former leader of high temperature research at BHP Billiton with a proven track record of experimental based innovation; Les has leading edge capability in modelling and evaluating material and energy flows in complex value chains in addition to being a Life Cycle Assessment practitioner.
	Matthew Warnken, has a thorough understanding of the waste and resource recovery industry, including policy issues, industry trends, market pressures, business drivers, NGO sector issues and carbon implications (climate change, carbon credits and carbon trading). Matthew is a well regarded analyst and presenter and is also a columnist for environmental management news.
